The brave ones dream of a wedding that’s uniquely their own- Not a copy of someone else’s or a duplication of a pinterest board. And when these courageous, confident beauties come my way, I jump for joy, knowing this is the heart of what I do… the “why” behind the “how.”
Claire and Eric’s Vancouver Wedding in the Wine Cellar, was just that; Fun, sophisticated and focused on the things and people that mattered most to them!
I met the lovely Claire when I did her sister Bridget’s Pinnacle at the Pier Wedding back in August of 2010. [Fun fact: That was back before I re-branded as “Kailey Michelle Events” and was operating as “Pearl Parasol.”]
So when my email rang sweetly, with the sounds of a sister in need of a planner, I jumped for joy!
In all honestly, when it stays in the family, this lady feels like she’s hit the jackpot; it’s the greatest of all referrals, the grandest testimony [actions do speak louder than words, my friend] and a badge of honour I wear with pride. If I can make one dream come true, fabulous; But two and in the same family- now that is to move mountains in the way of wedding planning… a gift I do not count lightly.
A genuine “Martha” with a love for all things “good,” Claire wanted a feast for the taste buds, that included a sophisticated Charcuterie table, with hand selected gourmet cheeses and the finest of italian canapés, that brought you to Italy and back with each mouthful!
Gathered with their closest friends and family, this intimate cocktail reception was held in the wine cellar of La Terazza restaurant, with sounds of eras gone by and Mad Men nostalgia mingling in the air.
There were more moments of laughter than I could count on two hands and a buzzing of genuine excitement as guests told stories of the couple and shared in the most memorable of wedding ceremonies I’ve ever witnessed.
Laughter, love, joy and friendship were the center of this celebration! It revived my love for love and the uniqueness of my couples love stories.
In addition to the warmth of their families, I had the pleasure of working with a few fabulous folks, including Mathias Fast who’s approach, demeanour and faith had me smiling ear to ear:
